Dear Employee:

In that you will be spending some time away from work while on disability/compensation, or through the Family Medical Leave Act, we wanted to remind you about the HelpPeople Employee Assistance Program that will still be available to provide personal support for you and your family.

We realize that this may be a difficult time for you. You may be working with various health care providers and do not understand their involvement with your ability to return to work. Family relationships may be stressful. You may be concerned about your job.

HelpPeople provides confidential assessment, short term counseling, and phone consultation to assist you and your family members (anyone living in the household) in identifying, thinking through and resolving personal problems no matter how unique and different they may appear. Your right to privacy is one of the crucial aspects of this program. Additionally, the services that you receive from our EAP are provided at no cost to you.

To arrange a convenient appointment for the Syracuse or Fulton, NY office, simply call HelpPeople at 315/470-7447 or 1-800-777-6110, weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., EST. A 24-hour answering service is available for immediate referrals of emergencies and to enable you to leave a message forHelpPeople. Evening appointments are available in both Syracuse and Fulton. Appointments can be scheduled through email, DLWWWHelpPeople@crouse.org.

If you feel more comfortable speaking with someone on the phone, please don’t hesitate to call because a counselor can spend some time talking with you. Our website at http://www.HelpPeople-eap.org also contains information and links to other resources that may be helpful. Counselors can prepare literature for any topic that can be sent to your home.

If you are working or live outside of Syracuse, please call 1-800-777-6110, weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., EST. A counselor from our Syracuse office will give you the name of the counselor or program that will provide services in your area. If you need emergency services after 5:00, please call 1-800-777-6110 and the 24-hour answering service will connect you with aHelpPeople counselor.

HelpPeople services can be used now, during this time away from work, or at some time in the future. We hope you will use our services if you need them.
